Safety and Preparedness

Tømmerrenna is a great experience for both locals and visitors, but the area requires you to take responsibility for your own safety. Here is some important information before you set off.

At your own risk
All movement in and around Tømmerrenna is at your own risk. Take the same care here as you would elsewhere in nature.

Railing height
The railing along the chute is lower than what is recommended for new structures today. Take extra care, especially with children.

Tunnels
The tunnels along the chute are low. Watch your head carefully, there is a real risk of hitting your head on the ceiling.

Meeting others
The chute is narrow. Please be considerate and step aside towards the edge on both sides when you meet others.

Snow and ice
We strongly advise against walking in the chute when there is snow or thick ice. The chute can become very slippery and difficult to walk in.

Outside the chute
Movement outside the chute itself is also at your own risk. Follow the signs and guidelines from the power company (energiverket). Water levels can rise quickly.

Setesdalsbanen
It is forbidden to walk or stay near the railway tracks of Setesdalsbanen.

In case of an accident
Call the emergency number 113 if something happens.

Report a fault
Do you spot a hole in the bottom of the chute? Send an SMS with a photo to Ruben at +47 480 21 585. Please include the number of the nearest distance marker (these are placed every 10 metres along the entire chute).

Have a great trip!
